Our sauna isn’t a commercial spa, it’s a one‑of‑a‑kind woodland hideaway by Studio McLeod. Built from local timber and recycled materials, it feels grown from the forest itself. A panoramic window keeps you connected to nature as you sink into the heat.

Cool off in a repurposed cattle drinking trough or rest on a bench carved out of a telegraph pole, before returning to the glow within.

The sauna ritual

Move slowly through this simple cycle of heat, cool, rest and repeat. A time honoured rhythm for body and mind.
1.

The preparation

Light the stove, scatter mountain heather, fill your bucket, and breathe in quiet expectation.
2.

The waiting

Sit back, watch the flames flicker, and let the gentle crackling wood calm your thoughts.
3.

The undressing

Shed your layers, drape your towel, and savour a moment of simple freedom.
4.

The heating

Pour water onto stones, listening as steam softly whispers warmth.
5.

The cooling

Step into fresh air or cold water, let coolness awaken your senses, and softly say “sláinte” to this gentle ritual.

Frequently
asked questions

What do I need to bring?

Bring swimwear, a towel (ideally two, one to sit on, one to dry off), something warm to throw on between sauna and plunge (a robe, big hoodie, or layers), and sturdy shoes for the short (uphill) walk through the woods. We’ll have farm-source drinking water and essential oils waiting.

What’s included, and how long is a session?

Private sessions are yours alone for up to 180 minutes, for up to 6 guests. It includes the wood-fired sauna, cold plunge, private changing area, farm source drinking water, and essential oils.

Do you have changing space and a shower?

Yes. There’s a private changing area on site, and you can cool off under the rain shower between rounds.

What happens when we arrive?

Our sessions are designed for you to have plenty of time to change and settle in, light the stove (it’s set up and ready) and let the sauna come up to temperature; after that it’s your own quiet rhythm of heat, cold plunge, and rest, with a private changing space on site plus farm source drinking water and essential oils ready to use.

Can I reschedule or cancel? What if we’re late?

Plans change, we get it. If you need to move things, click on the relevant link in your booking email. If you arrive late, your session still ends at the original time, so you don’t lose the next guests’ slot.
